Instead of getting to the right lvl (except for lvl 5 which takes about no time...) you can get the sunspear rank. It's usually shorter if you do the quests and take the bounties.

If you were patient enough to farm for LS, two days of leveling shouldn't be much of a problem.

what I did for my paragon, which I got legendary survivor, was first, I worked on my sunspear title (just killed stuff outside kamadan till lvl 5 with koss, easy to do, then I did quests), then at rank 6 *max on istani from bounties*, I did the primaries until I got to consulate docks.

From there I went to Tyria and Cantha, did tyria missions and quests until Dragon's Lair, did Cantha missions (skipping Vizunah square cinematic is a MUST) until Sunjiang District. Then did Elona missions until Gate of Desolation (go with Margrid for the MoW/Margrd split, her missions are easier).

At that point I was already rank 2, half way through that rank, so then I did EN missions (avoided the Asura missions and most side-quests), then I just went through Elona then Cantha doing side quests.

I got to rank 3 no sweat. And only grinding I did was to get to rank 6 sunspear.

questing all istan is enough both for level 15-18 and for the sunspear rank needed

For a build, anything that would reduce damage to yourself is a good thing. If you have an elite Tome, Incoming and Defenseive Anthem are two skills you should look into.

I'd just get to level 10, then beat the crap out of some Dwarves in EotN.

If u get a taxi to cantha, and then do the kaineng quests thats easy to get to lvl 20. Then carefully go through to game to the forest, and HFFF ur way to LS. SHould take 2-3 days for LS. If u just want lvl 20 KC quests are the way to go.

I made 4 different characters survivor (1) and averaged about 4 hours per player after creation.. Here is the recipe

1: Create in Nightfall
2: Taxi to Docks/LA/KC --- get max armor
3: Have friend help with Olias quest --- Make Olias a MM
4: Go to KC and pick up 2 quests (Welcome to cantha, and Chasing Zenmai)
5: Bring Olias ONLY outside KC and pick up the quest allies (Mhenlo, Emi, Zenmai, etc... You should have a party of 8 including allies)
6: Pop a Lightbringer scroll and kill enemies until the scroll ends (you will gain over 400 exp per kill)
7: Repeat step 5 and 6 until you are lvl 12 or 13. After you are lvl 12 or 13 the kick olias and do it solo.

I got my para from creation to lvl 20 Survivor in 3 hours and 45 minutes

TIP: Let your allies do all the fighting for you, you hang back and provide support. Make your build fully self preservation/party support until you are comfortable with the run. If you have the extra cash for Elite Paragon Tome and some normal tomes, its definitely worth it.

HINT: Even though your party is 8 people big, your exp and drops are split only between you and olias. So make sure that you pick up all allies before you kill.

This is my run in Bukdek byway
1: Exit KC wait for Mhenlo, Jamei, Cynn, Aidan, and Devona to follow you.
2: Go pick up zenmai at her spawn point she will be lvl 15
3: backtrack a bit and go pick up Emi and Chiyo (that should make all 6 allies)
4: Pop lightbringer scroll and start killing in a clockwise fashion around the map (you should end at the long bridge at the south end of the map just south of where zenmai spawns about the same time the lightbringer scroll runs out)

TIP: Keep olias on avoid battle so he doesnt accidentally kill himself causing his minions to run wild. Flesh Golem MM with monk heals and animate vamp horror will aid in his survival.

If you want to just farm it and have EotN, farm frost wurms in HM outside of Borilas station. With the 200 gp exp scroll you can make about 7K exp every ~8-10 minutes.

I'm using a /rit build with Pain, Bloodsong, and Vampirism.

go to sunspear great hall
and hero-monk-bond farm this boss:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hassin_Softskin
and his surrounding mobs

(make sure ur hero sits outside of aggro range so he doesnt steal exp)

note teh bug...
he wont attack u if u attack from range
which is a plus for being a survivor

that will take u bout ~10-20 mins or so to get to lvl 10
(wit teh chance of gettin a nice green para shield for ur para ^__^)

edit: forgot to mention that solo'ing this will most likely require u to have a decent spear
(transfered over from another chara of course)
having ferried max armour helps too

at that point,
as others mentioned
go to eotn and do dwarven boxing
